The Italian Space Agency (ASI) announces the incoming workshop "Presentation of opportunities for space activities", which will be held in remote mode on March 31, 2022 at 10:00 am. On this occasion, national space realities will share and confront each other in the context of the funding call of ASI.
The workshop aims to discuss project ideas that can be the subject of the above-mentioned call for proposals on "Space Activities" previously provided by the "Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza" (PNRR), Mission 4: "Extended Partnerships". Activities that aim to establish a supply chain program that brings together universities, research institutions, small, medium and large enterprises, enabling ambitious research projects in the medium / long term, on which initiatives are grafted to produce measurable output in a short time and lasting and sustainable results.
The scientific, technological and systemic space activities are based on innovation and ideas deriving from basic or applied research. The development of these research themes aims to generate significant and long-term effects, as well as to make Italy a country of reference in the international scientific community.
Event overview
The main themes of the partnership concern:
1) the improvement of the space observation capability and the enhancement of its applications, for example:
disaster prevention and space weather, modeling of complex processes induced by extreme geological events;
prediction of extreme weather and climate conditions: ensuring water availability and water cycle prediction capabilities at global, regional and local scales;
generating a zero-emission society;
predicting the different components of the carbon cycle;
sustainable agriculture;
data integration and management of urban and suburban policies;
2) exploration architectures for the identification, analysis and systemic and sustainable design of possible future extraterrestrial habitats.
