As part of the New Space Economy Expoforum 2024, which will take place from 16 to 18 December 2024 in Rome, Italy, the NSE 2024 Start-Up Pitch Competition is an event organised with the technical support of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), where innovative start-ups, industry experts and international speakers meet.
How to join the competition
The Competition is scheduled for December 17th. In order to participate, interested start-ups must:
have an MVP or working prototype;
be at a pre-seed funding stage or above;
have a competent and dedicated team;
operate in technological and innovation sectors related to the Space Economy;
be based in Italy.
Participating, or having participated, in an incubation or acceleration program focused on the Space Economy or Deep Tech will be considered a prerequisite.
Interested start-ups can fill in the registration form available at this link. Once the form is completed and submitted, participants will be contacted by NSE staff who will assist them before and during Expoforum 2024. The Scientific Committee, composed of industry experts and NSE 2024 partners, will select the 10 most suitable start-ups for the event and the final pitch competition.
The deadline for submitting the registration form is November 28th, 2024. The 10 start-ups deemed eligible for the competition will be notified by December 6th, 2024.
The prizes
On December 17th, starting at 17:00 (5 PM) on local time, the selected start-ups will take turns on the NSE stage, each having a maximum of 7 minutes to present their business proposal. The NSE 2024 Scientific Committee will evaluate the presentations and announce the winner of the competition: the prize for the first place team, awarded by NSE - New Space Economy 2024, will be €10,000.
In addition, the 10 selected start-ups will enjoy free space in the dedicated exhibition area during the days of the event and will be eligible for a reimbursement of up to €500 for their participation. Attending NSE 2024 offers an opportunity to present their projects to investors, partners and media, and to participate in B2B activities or investor meetings.
Finally, thanks to the partnership between NSE and Amazon Web Services, the one deserving to receive the Special Prize of €100,000 in credits to be used on Amazon Web Services platforms will be selected by AWS from the 10 finalist start-ups.
