The Festival dello Spazio (Space Festival) is a unique opportunity in Italy to share the outcomes, projects and visions of one of the most fascinating adventures in scientific research. Now in its sixth year, attended and supported by important institutions and industrial realities linked in various ways to the aerospace universe, the Festival is an event open to all, where one can 'touch with one's own hands' the extraordinary story of the exploration of the cosmos and discuss in public its present and future prospects.
The Festival has a well-established architecture: the Spacebook book review, the 'Space Economy' building sites, the competition for an interdisciplinary space paper dedicated to young scholars, the scientific space theme modulated in its various facets by distinguished guest speakers from all over Italy and beyond, exhibitions, conferences, performances and historical celebrations.
This year's Space Festival will take place from Thursday, June 30 to Sunday, July 3, 2022, within Villa Borzino, a historic villa in Busalla, province of Genoa, Liguria region, Italy.
The Space Economy panel
The Space Economy is defined by the OECD as the whole range of activities and the use of resources that create value and benefits for human beings in the course of course of exploration, research, understanding research, understanding management and use of Space. In conjunction with digital technologies, satellite infrastructures make possible the development of new applications and services in sectors such as energy telecommunications, insurance insurance, transport, maritime maritime, aviation and urban development, defence bringing additional benefits economic and social benefits. There is currently an unprecedented level of private investment in space initiatives in the United States, linked to an increased attractiveness and expected profitability of the space sector and a growing market for venture capital market, but there is also ferment in Europe.
This year, the Space Economy panel at the Space Festival offers the opportunity to have, seated at the same table, the main players in satellite infrastructures (ESA, EUSPA, ASI), who are launching calls for tenders for the development of new products and new innovative services related to them. Also present at the Festival are numerous important companies invited to tell their success stories.
