The 4th CASSINI Hackathon: Space for the Financial World, organized by Fondazione E. Amaldi, will be held on the weekend of November 4-6, 2022 at the I3P headquarters in Turin, together with several stakeholders and partners from the national innovation ecosystem.
The competition was launched by the European Commission to stimulate the use of space technologies and will take place simultaneously in 10 other different European locations.
In Turin, the participants of the 4th CASSINI Hackathon will be the protagonists of innovation and prepared for the increasingly dynamic new space sector gaining high-value skills, know-how, experience through an active involvement the Piedmont innovation ecosystem and engagement with international experts from the finance, insurance and space sectors who will support the teams in developing their projects, risk analysis and strategic decisions.
The prizes up for grabs are:
€2,500 for the first place;
€1,500 for the second place;
€1,000 for the third place;
Free tickets to the New Space Economy Expoforum for the winning team.
€10,000 of co-funding to launch your startup (to the winning team selected by the sponsor of the prize, to be assigned only after establishment of the company to support a pre-seed and incubation phase of the startup).

Participants can be students, young talents and industry professionals, programmers, researchers from accademia and all those who want to engage with the challenges of space and financial innovation.
The "hackers" will have to join in teams, up to a maximum of eight members, and create innovative solutions that can address the challenges of the finance, insurance and investment sector through the use of Galileo satellite navigation and Copernicus Earth Observation data.
Each team will be able to choose one of three available challenges:

#2 - Innovating financial tools and technologies
#3 - Advancing global market intelligence
